Testing Equipment - RefractometersNon ATC Refractometer
Non-ATC (automatic temperature compensating) refractometers work exactly like the ATC models in how they evaluate the juice samples. They work just as quickly and accurately. The user reads the sample through the eyepiece on a Brix scale. The exact range of Brix can be determined by consulting the table below. So you say...why pay the extra money for the ATC unit? Well our experience has shown that if your ambient temperatures remain fairly constant during the testing times, the Non-ATC unit performs excellently and in the hotter climates even better than the ATC. The difference is that with the Non-ATC unit, you have to calibrate it when there is a significant change in temperature. This is easily done with tap water and a tiny screwdriver which we supply. Calibration takes about twenty seconds. These Brix Refractometers which are manufactured for us come in a variety of ranges but they all have the same things in common. Features
