Yes it is. We are located about one and a half hours southwest of Orlando. Frostproof got its name back in the early 1800's when cowboys used to drive their cattle into this area because the grass was always green. They called it the "frostproof area". Then the area experienced a very devastating freeze. Because Frostproof is located between two lakes, most of the growers in this area were able to save their trees due to the warm air coming off the lakes. The area had been known at the Fort Clinch area because of a fort that had been there during the Indian wars. The other question we usually get asked is.... Is Frostproof... frostproof?

Well in recent years, the last one being 1989, the area did experience devastating freezes. Many of the older trees were destroyed but a good percentage did survive. Some townspeople now call us "Almost Frostproof"!

In 1985, two men, Wayne Zoffay and John Lilly, opened up a small business in Frostproof, Florida. For the first several months the only products they sold were tree wraps. Both men felt they could produce a product that was less expensive and worked a little better than what was on the market. As time went on, their customers said..."Can you get this"...."can you get that". And they did! Because they also had full time jobs growing oranges, it was hard for them to take on very many new products. After two years they sold the business to a man by the name of Mick Dannin, who brought on many new products in the short span of two years.

In the Spring of 1990, I, Jim Curran, my wife Joyce, my son Jacob & my daughter Molly purchased the business. Over the years our family has gradually added new products and moved into new areas of distribution such as golf courses and nurseries.
