Budding is a common nursery process in which the bud of one plant or flower is taken and grown on another. Budding can increase the productivity of certain horticultural crops. Budding makes it possible to achieve greater productivity through a variety of processes including the changing of varieties and cultivars, optimization of cross-pollination, perpetuating clones and repairing damaged plants. To perform successful budding requires the right plants and right season when weather conditions and the physiological stage of plant growths are both optimal.
