If you own or manage an orchard, or if you just have a deep interest in having the most information about the trees in your yard, there are some supplies that you won’t want to be without when you’re trying to make the most of your harvest. Knowledge is power, so make sure to have these tools around when you’re outdoors.

Hand Lenses

Simple inspection of fruit can go a long way to telling you what’s wrong, and what’s right, with your harvest. Take these hand lenses out with so that you can inspect the fruit, whether it’s on the tree or off. We have magnifying tools, both shot glass style and loupe style, ranging from 10X magnification to 16X. It’s the best way to look for splitting, insect damage, and hidden fungus.

pH testers

If you don’t know the state of you soil, you have no way of knowing what your trees are lacking. We have many ways to test the pH of your soil, from electronic probes to 100-packs of test strips. We also have buffer solutions when you have to keep a constant pH.

Soil Probes

When you need a more accurate way of testing the soil than can be accomplished in the field, you need soil probes to get those samples out of the ground and back to the lab. Designed to extract soil samples below the surface, you’ll be able to determine what’s going on well below the surface.
