Reliable, portable, and easy to use, the Kestrel 3000 Pocket Wind Meter calculates relative humidity, dew point and the heat stress index, along with air, water, and snow temperature, wind chill, current wind speed, average wind speed, and maximum wind gust. Kestrel was the first to provide accurate relative humidity measurements from a hand-held weather meter and they feature two patents on their humidity measuring sensors. And with Kestrel's patented temperature sensors, you get accurate readings that aren't influenced by hand warmth. The patented 1” impeller is mounted on a sapphire jewel bearing that's easily to replace / recalibrate. The large LCD display is easy-to-read with a backlight and data hold function. Includes a neck lanyard with slip on protective covering and sure-grip over molding. Completely waterproof and buoyant (will not sink). Runs on a CR2032 coin cell battery with an average lifespan of 300 hours. Made in the USA with a 5-year warranty and 30-day money-back satisfaction guarantee.

We use this instrument frequently to check the heat index when we are spraying out crops. The applicators have to wear protective clothing which creates dangerous heat stoke situations. With this instrument we can not only manage those situations but we can also measure the wind drift of our spray patterns.

Absolutely the best weather instrument I have ever used. I do extensive summer and winter hiking in the back country in California and I wouldn't be caught dead without this meter, In fact I think a few times I would have been caught dead if I didn't have it. Weather patterns come up pretty fast in the Sierra's and this instrument has given me good information to make intelligent decisions. Thanks so much for carrying a life saving product.
