Product Overview

Originally designed for the nursery and forestry industries, Soil Moist is a water storing polymer that reduces waterings by up to 1/2 over a 3-5 year time period. When mixed with soil, it absorbs water like a sponge, then slowly releases it back to plants as soil dries. Environmentally friendly and easy to use, Soil Moist is made from a pH neutral potassium base that expands and contracts during the watering cycle, increasing porosity and reducing soil compaction. Soil Moist significantly aids in new plant establishment and is a proven way to reduce transplanting shock. For flower beds and gardens, apply one pound of Soil Moist per 100 square feet of ground area. For turf / sodding, apply at a rate of six pounds per 1000 square feet or 300 pounds per acre. For transplanting, apply 2 ounces per 1ft. of rootball. Includes detailed application instructions.

    Soil Moist

Posted by G. Ingersoll on 20th Dec 2012

I received my order promptly, well packaged and as described. I read about your product while researching bare root planting methods and techniques. I have a modest 3 acre parcel and I'm currently doing a lot of planting on my "hobby farm." I live in the extreme southwest corner of Arizona where summertime temperatures can reach 120 degrees and often remain at or above 110 for weeks at a time. Your product was recommended as a means of assisting with maintaining sufficient water to plant roots, especially bare root plantings. I followed the directions and used your product in planting fig trees, pomegranate trees, two different blackberry cultivars and four different grape varieties. With the exception of the figs (which have not shown a bud at all) all of the plants are doing extremely well and should be well established by the time the summer "furnace" arrives. I look forward to using your company as a resource in the future.
